A small introduction from a big writing experience

Hello everyone, this is Mathieu writing. During a long long time I used to write poetry for myself, sometimes sharing them on random blogs, or just keeping them hidden in a little chest in my bedroom. I, as more and more people do nowadays, went to Burning Man this year. The experience was... Well, everyone has different one, right? Mine was mind blowing, in the first meaning of it. I just found myself knowing that I should go back on writing and stop thinking about the fact people would read and judge it, either positively or negatively. I had the feeling that it was the wrong way of doing it, and after almost three empty years, I wrote some pieces of poetry, just for myself, and I liked it.

I decided to write one poem per day during a year. No shit. No other rule. Burning Man taught me my biggest lesson about art : when you do things, the results might come from an unexpected way. When the supertall man was burnt, the most beautiful scene happened just before me, in the sky : the ashes were blown away by the wind, making a sort of chaotic dance, moving randomly above our heads, being at the first plans instead of the stars.

The volunteers had spent a whole month to build this man and burn it in a huge firework style show, and the most beautiful thing was the side effect, the unexpected part of it. I came back this night, feeling I had a Phd in art which I passed in 1 hour...

 Putting you efforts in it and free my own creativity seems to be lot easier today, because I realized that if you think about what the other people will think about what you've done, you might not create at all. More, they might feel the beauty a different way. They might love some art you don't really care about or hate your favourite piece.

Just do it, then.

One poem per day, no restriction : french, english, spanish, with or without rhymes, with or without shape, happiness, sadness, melancholy, simplicity or complexity.

This project officially begins tomorrow, on the 9th of september. I wrote a couple of things since Burning Man that I would like to share with you now.
